Polk County Reading Council

Books are the legacies that a great genius leaves to unselectable mankind, which are delivered down from generation to generation as presents to the posterity of those who are yet unborn. -Joseph Addison-

Community Service Project:

Polk County Reading Council has joined with Habitat for Humanity to supply books for a family receiving one of the habitat houses.   Throughout the 2010-2011 school year, Polk County Reading Council members have been collecting books for the children as well as the parents.  In addition, book cases and bookends were purchased for each child in the house. The familes are expected to move in their new home soon.

Since many of you have participated by donating books, this community service project will continue throughout the 2011-2012 school year. Please plan to bring a new book to donate at the next Polk Reading Council event.

Together we can make a difference one book at time!
